yahoo compared to google

Hi, thought i,d ask you this on your forum rather than moonfruits. I seem to do well on the yahoo search engines where i am in fifth place(depending what i put in), i write in 'garden maintenance moraira', and i show up fifth. Now, on google ,i do the same and im 145th, wayway down, and i doubt i will ever get noticed there. I am getting quite a few jobs from yahoo, but none from google, obvious. Is there a reason for this, i know you checked my site some months ago, i dont really know what to do about it, cheers, Dave... oh, and thanks for help in the past on moonfruit.

Re: yahoo compared to google

Sometimes this happends because of something called page rank although there is other possible reasons. Google assign a page rank to sites, 1 to 10, the higher the better. Anyway as your search engine rank is kind of close in both search engines, i can aonly assume that the sites that may link to you have a low Google page rank, and as Yahoo don't use this, welll dont assign as much strength to it as Google, so you appear lower in Google.

1 question, have you submitted your site to Google and Yahoo?

Re: yahoo compared to google

Hi, thanks for reply, yes, i submitted to both, yahoo solely on their own submission, and google linked with exact seek, along with jayde and quite a few more, i did this when site was complete. I did take a few keywords out, as i think you told me they didnt relate to my site, yahoo is normally pretty good to me, never have rated google, anyway, thanks for that, appreciate it, keep up the good work on moonfruit, your quite a reliable help on the forum, cheers, .... Dave.
