Moonfruit website SEO

Hi,

My website is www.casarita1.moonfruit.com. I am looking to vastly improve SEO and I am looking to build a couple more websites.

Is moonfruit compatible with:

1. Adsense,

2. Can I put a blog/forum on the site

3. Text link ads ( I think I read your article google do not like paid for text links)

4. Can I put banners on the site

5. Does it support affliate programs such as amazon.

Can a moonfruit website be optimized in the same way as any other or are their limitations. I hear so much about frames,flash,html...........pleaseeeeeeeeeeee help.

Re: Moonfruit website SEO

Hi

I will try and answer all your questions below.

Is Moonfruit compatible with?

1. Adsense?

Yes it is Moonfruit work well with Google so this is available as is Google sitemaps and site verification, and also Google analytics. We do all 3 for clients.

2. Can I put a blog/forum on the site

Yes you can, Moonfruit provide both a forum and a blog available by adding new pages and choosing blog or forum. I use an external forum mainly and have a link from my site. Also with a blog, the value of a blog is the links it gives you, and people finding the blog and then in turn finding your site. So again I would recommend an external blog to Moonfruit and linking it from your site.

3. Text link ads ( I think I read your article Google do not like paid for text links)

Googles definition of a paid link is links mainly on link farms. This is sites which are full of paid links. It does not mean you cannot pay or charge to be linked. Just avoid sites that sell you links. Also Google make it easy for you to check how they see a site before you link. Just check their page rank. If it has no page rank it could be a new site, but possibly a site that has been penalised. Page rank goes up to ten, the higher a page rank you link to the better for you. If you have a page rank of 5 and link to pages below this, your page rank can be affected.

4. Can I put banners on the site?

Yes you can add banners to the site, including affiliate banners. The only thing you cannot do is add a banner or use an affiliates that only provides html for its affiliates.

5. Does it support affiliate programs such as Amazon?

I think Amazon uses html so probably not.

6. Can a Moonfruit website be optimized in the same way as any other or are their limitations. I hear so much about frames,flash,html...........pleaseeeeeeeeeeee help?

Using just flash or frames is definitely bad for SEO purposes. Although the Moonfruit interface uses flash to make it user friendly, it does also generate html for the site and for search engines to pick up. So Moonfruit sites can be SEO'd as well as any other site. The only limitation with Moonfruits html generated is that it cannot be

Manipulated, well changed as well as we would want.

Hope this helps and please post anymore questions you may have.

Re: Moonfruit website SEO

HTML also known as Hyper Text Markup Language is language which is used to display content on web pages by denoting certain text as links, headings, paragraphs, lists, and so on — and to supplement that text with interactive forms, embedded images, and other objects.

Flash is a multimedia tool used to provide animation to visual images and make web pages more attractive. it contains a scripting language called ActionScript.

Basically they are 2 different programs or languages used in building websites.

Framing means that a website can be organized into frames. Each frame displays a different HTML document. Headers and sidebar menus do not move when the content frame is scrolled up and down.

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a stylesheet language used to describe the presentation of a document written in a markup language. Its most common application is to style web pages written in HTML and XHTML, but the language can be applied to any kind of XML document, including SVG and XUL.

CSS can be used locally by the readers of web pages to define colors, fonts, layout, and other aspects of document presentation. It is designed primarily to enable the separation of document content (written in HTML or a similar markup language) from document presentation (written in CSS).

I have copied what each does from Wiki. Hope this helps. Any more questions, please feel free to post here or email direct.
